A Glock pistol and six rounds of 9mm ammunition were seized during an early morning police operation in East End, leading to the arrest and remand of two men.

According to a Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) press release, the operation was conducted on June 11.

As a result of the recovery, 50-year-old Antonio Diaz Montero and 40-year-old Wilson Lorenzo Perez were arrested and charged with Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Explosives. Perez was also charged with Illegal Entry.

The men appeared before the Magistrate's Court and were remanded to His Majesty's Prison. They are scheduled to return to court on September 22, 2026.

The firearm recovery marked the 12th gun seized by the RVIPF so far this year.

Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool said the discovery highlights the ongoing threat posed by illegal firearms in the Territory.

“The recovery of this Glock and ammunition in East End is a stark reminder of the deadly threat that illegal firearms pose to our community,” she said.

Vanterpool noted that firearms have been the weapon of choice in all recent homicides and stressed that every weapon removed from the streets could potentially save lives.

She also urged residents to work with law enforcement by reporting information on illegal firearms and criminal activity.

The RVIPF said it remains committed to reducing gun-related crime and preventing illegal weapons from entering and circulating within the Virgin Islands.
