Updated Crown land application forms have been introduced to simplify the process for individuals and businesses, with clearer requirements aimed at reducing incomplete submissions and processing delays.
According to a Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change press release, the forms cover residential grants, commercial land leases, reclamations, jetties and breakwaters.
Chief Lands Officer Heather Skelton said the forms clearly outline the information and supporting documents applicants must provide.
“The updated forms are designed to simplify the application process and improve efficiency for individuals and businesses seeking to access Crown Land,” she said.
The forms will be available electronically in a fillable format, allowing applicants to complete them directly on their computers. Printed copies will also be available at the ministry.
Permanent Secretary Dr. Ronald Berkeley said the changes should improve access to Crown land, but cautioned that submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change Julian Fraser welcomed the initiative as part of ongoing efforts to improve administrative efficiency.
The updated forms support the implementation of the Crown Lands Management Act, which took effect on 31 January 2025. Crown land may be sold to individuals for residential purposes or leased to businesses for commercial use.
Applicants are encouraged to review the requirements carefully and submit all supporting documents to help ensure timely processing. Further information and access to the forms are available at gov.vg.
