The British Virgin Islands has received a major boost ahead of the inaugural ANOCES 3x3 U23 Basketball Championship with the installation of an official FIBA-approved 3x3 basketball court and competition equipment.
The state-of-the-art setup, donated by FIBA Americas to the BVI Olympic Committee (BVIOC), includes a complete official 3x3 court, shot clock and scoreboard required to host sanctioned FIBA 3x3 competitions.
According to the BVIOC, the equipment arrives just days before the first-ever ANOCES 3x3 U23 Championship, scheduled for May 16-17, 2026 in the Virgin Islands.
The BVIOC, which was selected to host the regional tournament involving OECS National Olympic Committees, hailed the donation as a major step forward for the continued growth and development of basketball in the Territory.
In the press release, special recognition was given to FIBA Board Member and FIBA Americas Treasurer, Mr. Usie Richards, along with FIBA Americas 3x3 Manager Mr. Camilo Romero, for helping secure the equipment donation.

The court and equipment were officially received by Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Mr. Eustace βBossβ Freeman, while installation was completed by former national basketball player and coach Mr. Keith β88β Malone, whose contribution was praised by organisers.
BVIOC and ANOCES President Ephraim Penn said the donation ensures the Territory is fully prepared to host the landmark championship.
