Police are pursuing multiple leads as investigations continue into the fatal shooting of 26-year-old K'moi Walters, who was gunned down in Huntums Ghut during the early hours of Monday, July 6.
According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), detectives from the Major Incident Team, assisted by specialist units, have carried out extensive interviews and are actively following several lines of inquiry as they work to identify those responsible.
Walters sustained a gunshot wound during the incident and was transported to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital, where he later died. His death marks the Territory's first homicide of 2026.
The RVIPF said the investigation remains active and officers are committed to bringing those responsible to justice.
Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool and members of the RVIPF extended condolences to Walters' family and loved ones during what they described as a difficult time.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information that could assist investigators to come forward, noting that even seemingly minor details could prove crucial to the case.
