The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is reviewing operational strategies to strengthen police visibility, enhance patrols and deter further robberies amid growing concern among residents and business owners.
Police said investigations are being actively pursued, with officers working to apprehend those responsible for the recent incidents across the Territory.
Acting Commissioner of Police Richard Ullger acknowledged the fear and frustration, particularly among people operating businesses and working late into the evening.
“No one should have to feel unsafe in their workplace, home or community,” he stated.
“I want to assure the public that we are taking these matters seriously and remain focused on identifying those responsible and bringing them before the courts.”
Ullger said the Force would continue using its available resources to confront the criminal activity and protect communities.
The RVIPF urged business owners to review security arrangements, ensure surveillance systems are functioning and take reasonable precautions when opening and closing their premises. Suspicious activity should be reported promptly.
Police also warned against confronting armed individuals or placing oneself in danger, stressing that personal safety must remain the priority.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has information about the robberies is encouraged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit confidentially on 368-9512, or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 800-8477 (TIPS).
The Force said all information would be treated in the strictest confidence and further updates would follow as investigations progress.
