Roof repairs are underway at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic on Virgin Gorda, with the project expected to take approximately two and a half months to complete.
The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) has shared photographs showing work in progress at the healthcare facility.
“This important work is expected to take approximately two and a half months, barring any unforeseen conditions,” the Authority stated.
The BVIHSA said the project forms part of efforts to maintain and improve healthcare facilities serving the community. It also thanked residents for their patience while the repairs continue.
The repairs follow disruptions to healthcare services at the clinic in September, when concerns about indoor air quality prompted the temporary relocation of services.
An environmental assessment was subsequently conducted, with samples sent to a laboratory in Florida for analysis. Professional Roofing was engaged to carry out the roof repairs under the Ministry of Health and Social Development’s management.
At the time of the September 18 update, emergency services were being provided at St Mary’s Anglican Church Hall, while other services were operating under temporary arrangements.
