UPDATE: Shooting Victim Identified As K'moi Walters

K'moi Walters has been identified as the male victim who was fatally shot in the Huntums Ghut area.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has launched a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting in the Huntums Ghut area during the early hours of Monday, July 6.

According to a police statement issued on Monday, the victim, an adult male, sustained gunshot injuries during the incident. He was transported to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital for medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased or disclosed the circumstances surrounding the shooting as investigations remain in the early stages.

The RVIPF said detectives are actively investigating the incident and that further information will be released when appropriate.

Investigators are appealing to members of the public who may have information that could assist the investigation to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9512 or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477.
