Police have charged 30-year-old Tiejie Henley of Luck Hill after reportedly recovering an illegal firearm and ammunition during a routine patrol in Fat Hogs Bay.
According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), officers observed a man allegedly engaging in illegal activity shortly after midnight on Tuesday, July 21.
Further inquiries led to the recovery of a 9mm pistol containing 15 rounds of ammunition.
Henley was arrested and subsequently charged with Carrying a Firearm Without a Licence and Unlawful Possession of Explosives. He remains in police custody pending his appearance before the Magistrate’s Court.
The RVIPF is urging anyone with information about illegal firearms or other criminal activity to contact its Intelligence Unit at 368-9512 or the anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477 (TIPS).
