Roof repairs at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic on Virgin Gorda have progressed, with the old membrane removed and the sacrificial layer installed ahead of anticipated completion by January 2027.
In an October 26 Facebook update, the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) said the project was awaiting a new roofing membrane, expected to arrive on-site within three weeks following discussions with the contractor.
Work will continue on the galvanised section of the roof while the materials are being delivered.
“Barring any unforeseen delays, the Health Services Authority anticipates that the project will be completed by January 2027,” the BVIHSA stated.
As previously reported, the repairs followed the temporary relocation of clinic services in September over indoor air quality concerns. An environmental assessment was conducted, and Professional Roofing was engaged to undertake the roof works.
The Authority thanked staff, patients and the wider community for their patience, reaffirming its commitment to safe and suitable healthcare facilities.
