The Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund (VICCTF) will hold stakeholder consultations across the Territory from 20 to 24 July 2026 ahead of its first Call for Proposals, scheduled to open between August and September.
According to the Trust, the consultations will help eligible organisations understand its work, prepare for the funding round, identified as CFP 2026-01, and provide input on local priorities.
Grants will be available under two funding areas: Community Resilience and Capacity-Building and Climate-Smart Education. Participants will also learn about the Trust’s governance, funding process and requirements for developing and submitting competitive proposals.
“These consultations mark an important step as we move from establishing the Trust to putting climate financing directly into the hands of the organisations doing the work on the ground,” VICCTF Chief Executive Officer Chamberlain Emmanuel said.
“We want every eligible organisation across the Territory to understand what this fund can do for their community and how to access it,” he added.
The consultation schedule is:
On Tortola on July 20 at 11am and 5pm and July 21 at 10am and 4pm at BVI Finance Conference Room at Cutlass Tower, on Anegada on July 22 at 10am at the Emile Dunlop Community Centre, and on July 23 both Jost Van Dyke at 10am at the Primary School (New Building) and on Virgin Gorda at 5pm at the Flax Administration Building conference room. An online session for those unable to attend in person will be held on July 24 at 10am via Zoom.
The sessions are open to government agencies, statutory bodies, private-sector entities, non-governmental organisations, community-based organisations, faith-based organisations and other organisations eligible for funding under CFP 2026-01.
Organisations must register in advance and attend through an assigned representative. Additional details and logistics will be provided to registered participants.
The Trust was established under the Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund Act, 2015, to raise, manage and distribute financing for local climate change adaptation and mitigation priorities.
Its Secretariat opened in February 2026, and the Trust was formally launched internationally on 21 April at the Global Sustainable Islands Summit in Gran Canaria, Spain.
Organisations may register online and obtain further information from the VICCTF https://forms.gle/Tw4gjZjVwShykTrC7 and see more information about the Trust at www.vicctf.org.
