Rehabilitation works on the Old Administration Building/Old Post Office Building on Main Street restarted over the weekend.
The six-to-eight-week phase will include a structural assessment, roof and door replacements, interior cleaning and other critical repairs.
The first phase, which included restoration of the building’s façade and redevelopment of the Annex Building, was completed last year. The Annex will house the National Archives.

while it is important to preserve as much of Main St as one can as part of a historical district, choices in renovations have to also be historically accurate. who decided on turquoise exterior panels? that has never been seen in old photos. I hope the old jail and counting house has also been protected as well as several wooden framed historic houses. We are slowly losing character as we invite thousands of tourists in (who incidentally, are looking for history and culture), and foreign investors take over properties.
