The British Virgin Islands is preparing to host some of the Caribbean’s brightest young sporting talents when the NAGICO and Interpath Junior Caribbean Squash Championships 2026 takes place from July 10-16 at the Tortola Sports Club in Pasea Estate.
The week-long tournament will see approximately 150 junior athletes from across the region competing for national pride, with teams representing Barbados, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and the host British Virgin Islands.
BVI National Squash Coach Adam Murrills said the territory is excited to welcome the region’s best junior players and showcase the spirit of Caribbean squash.
“We’re going to be welcoming approximately 150 juniors from all around the region. It’s going to be fierce competition but also real camaraderie between all the players, so it should be a great event,” Murrills said.
He encouraged the wider community to come out and support the athletes, noting that admission throughout the tournament will be completely free.
“It’s going to be a really busy week of squash from the 10th to the 16th. As many people as want to come down, please do come and check us out here at the Tortola Sports Club,” he added.
The championships represent a major opportunity for the BVI’s junior national team to compete on home soil while giving local fans a chance to witness the future stars of Caribbean squash in action.
Murrills also expressed appreciation to the corporate sponsors and partners whose support has helped make the hosting of the championship possible, highlighting the important role they continue to play in developing junior sport in the Virgin Islands.
